Ring ULTRAINFLATE 20 review: features, limits & UK buying advice
A good fit for routine car maintenance if you can reach every tyre from a compatible socket. Look elsewhere if you need genuinely untethered use. The independent group-test result is useful evidence, but one test does not establish long-term reliability.

Our verdict
We would shortlist this for routine car top-ups when a compatible 12V socket is available. Check your vehicle’s socket rating and the pump instructions before buying.
Reasons to consider
- No separate battery to charge
- Preset pressure and automatic stop
- Cable storage built into the unit
Keep in mind
- Tethered to the vehicle’s power socket
- Not the same product as Ring TYREINFLATE 20
What it means in everyday use
The strongest reason to choose the Ring is simplicity: take it from the boot, connect it to a suitable vehicle socket and set the pressure. The 3 m cable and 60 cm hose matter more in everyday use than a headline maximum-pressure figure. Check that this combination reaches all four valves from your socket, without pulling the hose tight. A power cable also means there is no separate inflator battery to remember to charge.
Its vehicle-powered design avoids the need to remember to charge a separate battery. Ring specifies a 3 m power cable, a 60 cm hose and a preset with automatic shut-off. Those are useful everyday features when moving between four wheels.

Speed, accuracy and battery claims
Auto Express named the ULTRAINFLATE 20 its winner in a 12V group test dated 8 October 2025. The publication reported a 1 PSI gauge discrepancy. That is their finding, not a measurement made by this site.
Ring’s inflation-time claim and the Auto Express test use different conditions. We have not converted them into a head-to-head speed score. Confirm socket compatibility in the pump and vehicle instructions.
Auto Express’s comparison used a 15-inch wheel, a 10-to-35 PSI inflation task and a constant 12V supply. Those conditions are relevant when interpreting its finding; they are not a guarantee for a different tyre or vehicle power supply.
What is included — and what costs extra?
Ring lists three adaptors for other inflatables, an integrated LED and storage for valve caps. The power cable stores in the unit. Check the retailer’s exact RTI120 bundle and do not confuse it with the differently named TYREINFLATE 20.

Xiaomi or Bosch instead?
Choose a self-contained rechargeable model when freedom from a vehicle cable matters more than keeping a pump ready without a separate charging routine. The Ring’s 60 cm hose is longer than their listed 20 cm hoses. That is a positioning difference, not a measured speed advantage.

Check these before ordering
- Match the model identifier: RTI120.
- Confirm your required pressure from the vehicle handbook or placard.
- Check power compatibility, hose positioning and the complete kit cost.
- Read the exact operating and cooling instructions before use.
- Check current seller, returns terms and stock at the retailer.
A high maximum pressure is not evidence of faster inflation or suitability for continuous use.
How this assessment was prepared
These are research-led editorial assessments, based on exact UK manufacturer specifications and clearly attributed published tests. A specification is evidence of a stated feature, not proof of real-world speed, accuracy or durability. Read our editorial policy.
Frequently asked questions
Is it cordless?
No. The RTI120 connects to a compatible 12V vehicle socket. There is no separate inflator battery to charge.
Is ULTRAINFLATE 20 the same as TYREINFLATE 20?
No. Check the RTI120 model identifier and exact manufacturer specification, rather than ordering by a similar product name.
Does automatic stop guarantee the final pressure?
No. Auto-stop is a convenience feature. Check finished tyre pressures with a reliable gauge and use the vehicle’s recommended setting.
