BUYING GUIDE
Best cordless tyre inflators for UK drivers
Start with the Xiaomi Air Compressor 2 for compact, self-contained top-ups, compare the Bosch EasyPump for light carrying weight and adaptor storage, or consider the DeWalt DCC018N if you already own compatible XR batteries.

Our shortlist, with the trade-offs
| Model | Reason to consider | Main buying check |
|---|---|---|
| Xiaomi Air Compressor 2 assessment | Compact cordless | Short 20 cm hose |
| Bosch EasyPump assessment | Car & bicycle use | Short hose limits positioning |
| DeWalt DCC018N-XJ assessment | Existing DeWalt owners | Tool-only price excludes battery and charger |
Xiaomi Air Compressor 2

Worth considering when a compact pump and the freedom to move around the car matter most.
Our compact choice for occasional top-ups. We would not infer suitability for repeated large-tyre inflation from its 150 PSI maximum alone. Check that the listing is for the 2, rather than the 1S or 2 Pro.

Bosch EasyPump

A small, self-contained option for someone sharing one pump between a car, bicycle and sports equipment.
We would compare this with the Xiaomi if portability and accessory storage matter most. Its 150 PSI rating does not establish that it is quicker or better suited to large tyres.

DeWalt DCC018N-XJ

The most compelling reason to choose it is an 18V XR battery you already own.
A useful shortlist option for an existing XR household. If you are starting from scratch, compare the complete battery-and-charger cost with a self-contained inflator before choosing it.

Freedom to move, with a charging routine
Cordless removes the cable between the pump and the car. It does not remove the air hose, battery limits or the need to support the unit securely near a valve. A rechargeable tyre inflator works best when you plan regular pressure checks and remember to charge it, rather than assuming a pump left in the boot will always be ready.
- Built-in or removable battery? Xiaomi and Bosch are self-contained; DeWalt needs a compatible pack for cordless operation.
- Hose positioning: both compact models list 20 cm hoses. Consider awkwardly positioned valves.
- Charge and storage: follow the model’s temperature and charging instructions. Do not assume a hot parked car is suitable storage.
- Car, bicycle or both? Check valve adaptors and the required pressure, including bicycle rim limits.
Compare reach and power
| Model | Power | Hose / reach | Stated pressure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xiaomi Air Compressor 2 | Built-in rechargeable battery | 20 cm | 3–150 PSI inflation range |
| Bosch EasyPump | Built-in 3.6V battery | 20 cm | 150 PSI maximum |
| DeWalt DCC018N-XJ | 18V XR battery or 12V socket | Separate high-volume hose | 160 PSI maximum |
Display ranges and maximum inflation pressures are different specifications. These figures do not form a speed ranking.
Compare the complete cost
Check the current price for the exact model and bundle. Add any battery, charger, power adaptor or valve accessory you actually need. We do not show unverified live prices or assume an Amazon search result is the cheapest seller.
Think about ownership as well as purchase price: a compact rechargeable pump needs charge management; a socket model needs a compatible supply and adequate reach.
How we chose the shortlist

Frequently asked questions
Which cordless tyre inflator is best for a car?
For occasional car top-ups, start by comparing Xiaomi Air Compressor 2 and Bosch EasyPump. For existing DeWalt XR owners, the DCC018N is another option. We have not measured them in a matched speed test.
Are cordless tyre inflators powerful enough?
Some are intended for car tyres, but maximum PSI alone is not enough to judge a job. Check tyre volume, target pressure, battery condition and permitted operating time.
Is a rechargeable inflator the same as a battery-powered one?
Rechargeable models may have an integrated battery or accept a removable tool battery. Those are different buying propositions, especially when a listing excludes the battery and charger.
