Xiaomi Air Compressor 2 review: features, limits & UK buying advice
A practical compact option for planned top-ups across a car and bicycles. Its short hose and need to keep the battery charged are the main ownership compromises. We would choose a different type for sustained, repeated large-tyre work unless the required workload has been verified.

Our verdict
Our compact choice for occasional top-ups. We would not infer suitability for repeated large-tyre inflation from its 150 PSI maximum alone. Check that the listing is for the 2, rather than the 1S or 2 Pro.
Reasons to consider
- Self-contained, approximately 490 g
- USB-C charging
- Pressure preset with auto-stop
Keep in mind
- Short 20 cm hose
- USB power adaptor is not supplied as standard
What it means in everyday use
This is an appealing format for moving between a car and bicycles, especially when access to a vehicle socket is inconvenient. Its 20 cm hose means you need to think about where the unit will rest while connected. USB-C charging is convenient, but a pump left in the boot still needs a charging routine. A quoted 150 PSI limit says nothing on its own about sustained output on a large tyre.
Xiaomi lists a weight of approximately 490 g, USB-C charging and a 20 cm hose. The short hose makes valve position worth considering. The battery needs periodic charging, even if the pump spends most of its time in the boot.

Speed, accuracy and battery claims
Xiaomi’s laboratory claim is approximately two minutes to raise a 205/55 R16 tyre from 2.0 to 2.5 bar at 25°C ±2°C. This is a manufacturer result, not an independent test or a promise for every tyre.
Xiaomi also claims approximately eight minutes from 0 to 2.5 bar on its specified test tyre, and up to ten 2.0-to-2.5 bar top-ups under laboratory conditions. These are manufacturer results; temperature, tyre size and battery condition can change real-world performance.
A top-up from 2.0 to 2.5 bar is a much smaller task than inflating from empty. Do not compare these timings with another brand’s unspecified tyre size, starting pressure or test supply.
What is included — and what costs extra?
The UK specification lists a quick-connect adaptor, Presta valve adaptor, needle adaptor, storage pouch and charging cable. The USB power adaptor is not supplied as standard. Check the listing carefully: the Air Compressor 2, 1S and 2 Pro are different products.

Xiaomi or Bosch EasyPump?
Both have short 20 cm hoses and built-in batteries. Bosch lists 430 g against Xiaomi’s approximately 490 g excluding accessories, but those manufacturer weights are not a controlled comparison. Xiaomi publishes specific laboratory top-up claims; Bosch’s specification page does not establish a directly comparable result. Choose on handling, accessories and total price rather than an invented speed winner.

Check these before ordering
- Match the model identifier: Portable Electric Air Compressor 2 · MJCQB06QW.
- Confirm your required pressure from the vehicle handbook or placard.
- Check power compatibility, hose positioning and the complete kit cost.
- Read the exact operating and cooling instructions before use.
- Check current seller, returns terms and stock at the retailer.
A high maximum pressure is not evidence of faster inflation or suitability for continuous use.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Xiaomi Air Compressor 2 include a charger?
The UK specification includes a USB charging cable but not a USB power adaptor as standard. It specifies a 5V/2A input.
How many car tyres can it inflate?
Xiaomi claims up to ten top-ups from 2.0 to 2.5 bar on a 205/55 R16 tyre under stated laboratory conditions. This is not ten empty tyres, nor a result measured by this site.
Can I use it for a bicycle?
The supplied valve adaptors include a Presta adaptor. Check your valve, tyre pressure and the pump’s 3–150 PSI stated range. A preset mode is not a substitute for the tyre and wheel manufacturer’s limits.
